From the Galápagos Islands to Antarctica, we’ve checked off some pretty big dreams. But you should see what’s still on our Travel Bucket List!

Our Travel Bucket List Is Always Changing

Travel has always been important to me, but when you’re working full-time and only have two or three weeks of PTO each year, there’s only so much of the world you can explore.

Then I had a near-death experience when a runaway boat almost crushed me. That was a pretty powerful reminder that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Bill and I decided we didn’t want to keep putting our Bucket List off until “someday”.

That frightening day in Costa Rica changed how I think about the future. If you’re curious about what happened, I tell the full story in Life Can Change in an Instant: Don’t Put Off Your Bucket List.

Eventually, I quit my job and we kicked our travel Bucket List into high gear. Since then, we’ve spent months at a time exploring different parts of the world. And one thing I’ve learned? The more places we visit, the more places we add to the list!

This is our real Travel Bucket List—both the places we’ve already experienced and the ones we still hope to explore in the future. If you’re looking for inspiration for your own Bucket List, you’ll find plenty of ideas you might want to add to yours. I’ll keep updating it as we turn more of those bullets into checkmarks.

Of course, some experiences stand out more than others! I’ve also put together Our Top 10 Greatest Travel Experiences, featuring some of the most memorable things Bill and I have done around the world.

What Will We Check Off Next?

Our Bucket List definitely isn’t getting any shorter. Every time we travel somewhere, we hear about three more places we want to go. Or our friends go somewhere we had never heard of and it looks amazing.

Our next big adventure will take us back to Africa for three months, where we will turn several more of those bullets into checkmarks. #Africa2027

After that? Our plans have a way of changing when another place catches our attention.

That’s one of the things I love about having a Bucket List. It isn’t something you create once and finish. It changes as you experience new things.
