Bill and I spent 4 months exploring South America and Antarctica. We started with a whole month in the Galapagos, then went to Ecuador, Antarctica, Patagonia (both Chile and Argentina), the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile and finished up with a visit to Iguazu Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. So many Bucket List items checked off and it was all fantastic.

White salt bands curl around blue and pink mineral pools below red volcanic hills and a deep blue sky. This image captures the wild, high-altitude scenery that makes Ruta de los Salares one of the most dramatic drives from San Pedro de Atacama.
