Austria is a magical land, offering both gorgeous mountain beauty as well as vibrant historical cities such as Vienna and Salzburg. It is bordered by Germany, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. This makes it a hub to transit all over Europe.
We American’s affectionally think of Austria as the location of the Von Trapp Family Singers and the Sound of Music.
That was the first movie I ever saw in a theater and we only went because my parents were about to travel to Austria. That was how you did “research” in the early 1970s! 😉
And now I got to see it in real life!
