The Berchtesgaden National Park in Germany features beautiful alpine meadows and lakes.

GERMANY

Germany is a land of glorious mountains, a checkered history, bratwurst, bier and charming little villages. It’s also home to the Autobahn and several high-quality German car manufacturers: BMW, Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen. And don’t forget about Oktoberfest!

I’ve been lucky enough to go to Germany several times in the past, exploring a different region each time. I even did a study-abroad program during college here. Most recently, Bill and I were lucky enough to spend some time in Munich on our trip around the world.

Germany folk enjoy a variety of hardy and robust food, including wieners in ketchup and curry. The roll was hard and crusty on the outside, but soft on the inside.
