NEW ZEALAND

The gorgeous country of New Zealand is located in the South Pacific, 1000 miles southeast of Australia, in an area commonly referred to as Oceania. It consists of a North Island and a South Island, separated by the Cook Strait and connected by a ferry, plus another 700 smaller islands.

New Zealand has been on the top of my Bucket List for many, many years. And boy, did it ever deliver! Several of our NZ experiences are featured in our Top 10 List of Greatest Travel Experiences.

What an amazing place full of wonder, wildlife and water. I can’t wait to go back there some day soon!

Famous for it’s rugged terrain, mountain hiking and unique bird life, I added 75 new birds to my Life List during our time in New Zealand. Whales and marine life are also present and visible, all around the islands.

Keep checking back as I am currently working on many posts about our time exploring the South Island, with tons of helpful information to help you plan your Bucket List trip.
